THE POLITICS OF RAPE..........

The politics of or then should I say over rape cases and victims is the latest development on the national or then should I say state political scenario, with two woman politicians from Karnataka taking pot shots at each other and their respective political parties notwithstanding the fact that the hapless victim continues to vacillate precariously between life and death.....

A woman between the ages of 19 and 25 is hanging on for dear life in Bengaluru's state run Victoria Hospital since February 4, 2013, the victim is an unconscious state and has been in the same state ever since she was rolled into the hospital......

Medical test have confirmed the fact that she was brutally gang raped by a group of unidentified men, bruised, battered and left to die at the Harohalli or Herohalli Railway station in Ramnagar Taluk where she was found in a serious state.......

Doctors treating her at the Victoria Hospital say that they have succeeded in getting rid off the blood clot in her brain which had caused temporary paralysis and also impeded the blood supply to her brain, however her failure to regain consciousness for almost two weeks now is indeed a worrisome factor and the doctors are indeed doing their best to revive the victim.........

Karnataka State Police sources have confirmed that they are indeed clueless about the identity of the victim, her name, where she belongs to, her family and other antecedents and can do precious little in the matter of apprehending her alleged rapists until she regains consciousness.......

Meanwhile, the political wrangling has already broken out over the victim and her alleged rapists; ex cabinet minister Shobha Karandajle, who also happens to be a staunch Yeddyurappa Loyalist has made a startling claim about the rapists being none other than four Bharatiya Janata Party workers and also said that the state police is not proceeding with the case for the very same reason.......

While noted advocate and prominent member of the Bharatiya Janata Party Pramila Neasrgi has strongly repudiated and refuted the above mentioned statement and rubbished the charges made by Ms. Karandajle; she has even gone to the extent of saying that "Ms. Karndajle herself might have played an integral role in this heinous crime, why is she raising a hue and cry and shedding crocodile tears now when she did precious little to arrest this disturbing trend during her ministerial stint".........

And so the political wrangling and blame game continues while the victim continues to hang on precariously between life and death............
