LET"S ALL COME TOGETHER!!!!!!!

Gathering or then coming together in disparate groups of fifty to a hundred, raising plaintive cries fro the seemingly elusive justice and holding up placards proclaiming our interest in making India a more secure and safer place for women to live in is surely not serving the purpose that all of us set out to achieve.........

Numbers in this case, specifically numbers running into thousands of people is what the government pays heed do as was well documented in the case of the movement against corruption, the government did certainly buckle down before the relentless public pressure exerted on them by the teeming millions who had gathered on the capital's streets during those heady days and forced their hand into agreeing to the formation of a joint drafting committee........

Whether we like it or not, the fact of the matter is that we are mostly a nation of fickle minded individuals who raise a hue and cry about an issue that catches our fancy for a limited period of time, shout ourselves hoarse over it, sooner rather than later realise the forlorness and hopelessness of tilting at windmills and then choose to remain mute spectators until the next manifestation of evil stares us in the face.........

We are doing nothing but playing into the hands of our insensitive, deaf and blind politicians who time and again exploit the fissures that exist between us and get away scot free with doing precious little or then nothing at all as most if not all of us are a disparate lot who steadfastly refuse to come together on one common platform..........

We can only make the government pay heed to us by the sheer dint of numbers, so do let's aside our differences if any and concentrate our energies under a common umbrella or then on a common platform, let's focus and concentrate our energies on putting together a common charter of demands that addresses all our legal, safety, security and self defence related concerns, put down this charter of demands in black and white for all and sundry to see, spread out on street corners and take recourse to the social networking sites to galvanise, arise and awaken people.........

I for one am more than willing to make any sacrifice it takes to ensure that Nirbhaya, Amanat, Damini or whatever else you may choose to call her and millions of others like her get the due justice, respect and honour that is their birthright, I am willing to spend any number of days at street corners talking to people and convincing them into appending their invaluable signatures on the proposed charter of demands.........

Friends, fellows and dear Hyderabadis, let's all come together for Nirbhaya and all our sakes, we owe an answer to our future generations and posterity as regards the safety and security of women in this country, so let's all make a concerted effort to set aside our petty differences and begin to make a sheer difference with our size, cohesiveness and unity of purposes..........

ALWAYS REMEMBER: UNITED WE STAND, DIVIDED WE FALL........
