KEVIN PIETERSEN"S SWAN SONG?????

Is it the end of the road for maverick, dashing and somewhat eccentric South African Born English batsman Kevin Pietersen?????? well the answer might well be in the affirmative if media reports emanating from old blighty are any yardstick to go by........
According to a plethora of media reports a clandestine meeting was supposedly held between the coach of England's ODI team Ashley Giles, incumbent captain Alastair Cook and the English Cricket Board's Managing Director and former England stumper Paul Downton.........
Speculation has it that the three above mentioned notables were of the unanimous opinion that the infamous Mr. Pietersen was indeed a disruptive element who constantly vitiated a congenial dressing room atmosphere and also that he was proving to be hurdle in achieving unity and solidarity amongst the remaining team members.........
One may do well to recall the fact that the English team was indeed a divided house all throughout the traumatic and turbulent recent tour down under, where the English lions were comprehensively thrashed by a 12-1 margin by a marauding and rampaging Aussie team in all three forms of the game.........
The disastrous, ill fated and ill tempered tour saw the premature retirement of arguably the best off spinner in the business Graeme Swann from all three forms of the game citing irreconcilable differences with his team mates; abrupt return of the stodgy Jonathan Trott due to an alleged stress related illness........
Mysterious side lining or overlooking of left arm tweaker Madhusudan Singh (Monty) Panesar in favour of a rookie who was flown in on short notice and last but not the least the fall from grace of long time stumper Matt Prior.........
In fact, former English medium pacers turned journalist Angus Fraser and former English skipper turned commentator Michael Atherton had let the cat out of the bag and said that the English Cricket Board is all set to go after KP, Monty, Prior, Swann, Trott and last but not the least team director Andy Flower after the due completion of a horrendous tour down under........
Well, whatever may be the reason, the irrefutable fact is that Kevin Pietersen does not find himself on the England team sheet on the whistle stop tour of the Caribbean Isles in February or Twenty20 World Cup slated to be held in Bangladesh in March........

FIT CASE FOR THE DEATH PENALTY??????

To marauding rapists, the age, bodily shape, size and state of the victim seems nothing more than just a trivial matter to gloss over as the brutal rape of a class III student residing in the northern part of the national capital vicariously highlights once again........
In what must certainly be seen as a blot or then should I say vicious blow on the face of humanity a nine year old girl is battling for her life after being brutally sexually assaulted and battered by a 25 year old sexual predator on Sunday evening.........
The grievously injured victim a class III student of the local government school in the Bara Hindu Rao area of North Delhi was amusing herself in the company of two other girl's of her own age in the vicinity of her humble abode when the three of them were surreptitiously approached by the accused who has since been identified as one Gopi Nisha Malha........
According to the girl's distraught father, "the three dimunitive, gullible and naive girl's were playing on the road opposite their houses a little after 6:30 pm on the fateful Sunday evening when the satanic Malha approached them and tried to entice them away from the spot on the pretext of showing them something unique or something that they hadn't chanced upon earlier"..........
While, the two other little girls steadfastly refused to succumb to this enticement, the victim overcome by curiosity readily agreed to accompany him to a secluded and deserted spot in the very same locality, only to find herself being gagged, bound, battered, raped and sodomised by this devil reincarnate who took vicarious pleasure in torturing and brutalising his helpless victim.......
Hearing her piteous cries for help and repeated entreaties for mercy, the two girl friends of the victim made a beeline towards the victim's house and narrated the sordid incident to her disbelieving mother........
Showing remarkable presence of mind the mother of the victim made her way to the local police station in the company of the two girls registered a complaint against Malha and also provided the area police with a graphic description of his physical appearance.........
She then began a furtive search for her missing/abducted daughter and chanced upon both her daughter and her tormentor in the Nawabganj area of the national capital a little over two hours later........
On seeing that the avenging mother of the little girl was on the warpath and that his fun and games with the little one were over and done with; Malha cruelly pushed the grievously injured little girl to the ground with beastly force and made good his escape from the hotspot.........
Gathering her howling daughter in her arms, the now distraught and bewildered mother caught an auto and rushed her copiously bleeding daughter to the local Bara Hindu Rao Hospital where she was immediately admitted in the intensive care unit (ICU).........
Given the life threatening nature of her numerous injuries, the doctors in the hospital performed a major surgery on the victim on Monday and also said that she will need to undergo two more such surgeries if the doctors are to stabilise her condition; her condition is slated to be highly critical and she is under round the clock supervision of a team of specialists.........
In what must come as solace from heaven, the rapist Malha was arrested by the police from a friend's abode in the wee hours of Tuesday morning from a friend's abode thanks to the graphic descriptions of his physical appearance provided by the two girl friends and the victim's mother........
Cases have been booked under sections 363 (kidnapping and abduction), 376 (rape), 377 (unnatural sexual offences) of the Indian Penal Code against Malha and he has also been booked under sections 3 and 4 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act 2012 (POSCO Act) at the Bara Hindu Rao Police station.........
Malha was duly produced before a magistrate on Tuesday afternoon and has been duly remanded to judicial custody by the legal functionary.......
Fit and just case for the death penalty methinks, what do you have to say about the same???????

WARNE AS TEAM DIRECTOR?????

Iconic leggie (leg spinner) Shane Warne's tweet pertaining to his conditional acceptance of the much coveted Team Director' s post has certainly set the virtual world atwitter and how..........
Laconically responding to the legions of tweets posted by concerned Englishmen imploring him to accept the much coveted Team Director's post: Warne said that he was certainly not averse to accepting the challenge if the English Cricket Board approached him... .....
But, he also added that he would only do the same after putting much thought into his decision and not make any decision about accepting the post or otherwise based on emotion or in undue haste..........
One may do well to recall the fact that both the English Cricket Board as well as the legions of followers of the English Lions have not exactly been averse to foreigners occupying the highest post in the nation's cricketing hierarchy..............
Outgoing team director Andy Flower had been in charge of the team since 2009 and present Indian coach Duncan Fletcher had also helmed the English team for a period bordering eight years or so............

"We had categorically said this in reply to the letter sent to us by the Aam Aadmi Party listing 18 demands even before we decided to extend unconditional support to it, we had then said that the 16 demands that were purely administrative in nature, but also steadfastly opposed the provisions pertaining to the demand for complete statehood to Delhi and the seemingly draconian Jan Lokpal Bill that the Aam Aadmi Party propagated"...........
"Our opposition to this bill however does not mean that we will pull down this minority government, we will oppose it tooth and nail on this issue as we are of the informed opinion that the draft of the bill passed by the cabinet contains many provisions that are contrarian to the measures laid down by the centre's version of the Lokpal Bill, hence our opposition to the same", he concludes........
One really wonders how Mr. Arvind Kejriwal will now get his "pet" bill passed in a specially convened assembly session at the national capital's Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium as the Bharatiya Janata Party is also bound to oppose the same tooth and nail.........
To compound his miseries, Mr. Kejriwal is also burdened by the sceptre of an internal revolt by the expelled Aam Aadmi party legislator Vinod Kumar Binny and the five other Aam Aadmi Party legislators who are surreptitiously extending their support to him..........
According to Aam Aadmi Party sources the bill could be presented before the assembly within the next week or ten days and there is no question whatsoever of diluting it's allegedly draconian provisions as the party is committed to nipping out corruption from it's very root not co-existing with it as the central government had done..........
Maybe, the legendary magician Houdini or then our very own P.C. Sorcar could lend/teach Messrs Arvind Kejriwal and company a trick or two about turning a hostile tide in their favour.........

RACISM CONTINUES UNABATED..........

Ugly and heinous racism and hedonistic tendencies towards/against those Indians who hail from the north eastern part of the country are certainly the flavour of the season as far our national capital is concerned, prefer not to believe me and call me sensational and biased, well then, sample this for thought...........
The grotesque, inhuman and diabolic death of the student hailing from ArunachalPradesh was only the proverbial icing on the cake as racist taunts, slurs, unpalatable comments about their hair, vestments and allegedly " loose lifestyles, inflated prices and much more are the daily stock in trade for those who hail from the north east............
A few students from the north east have actually accomplished the seemingly herculean task of speaking, reading and writing the preferred lingua franca of the national capital namely Hindi fluently, but this too has not stopped auto drivers, vegetable vendors and other such unscrupulous elements from fleecing them blind at any and every given opportunity..........
" I speak Hindi with the barest trace of an accent and a modicum of familiarity, yet continue to be be robbed blind by autowallahs, sabjiwallahs, rediwallahs and am continually asked the question whether I hail from China", Susan Massey a Delhi University research student and resident of Satya Niketan painfully admits.............
Sample this now, Ram Gogoi a student of the national capital's prestigious Ramjas College left no stone unturned and literally scoured the length and breadth of every lane and by lane adjoining his alma mater in 2013 in an effort to secure a roof over his head.............
"Most if not all landlords simply turned me out or then simply refused to entertain me until one mammonesque landlord condescended to rent out a room to me at the princely rent of Rs. 11,500/- per month, while my fellow students hailing from other states were paying him the seemingly pithy sum of Rs. 6,500/- per month for similar accommodation; not only this, he also collected a year's rent as security deposit up front", Gogoi goes on to add...........
The story is no different in the case of the thousands of students hailing from the north eastern part of the country who frequent the national capital in search of elusive "quality" education each year, while the North Eastern Women's Hostel provides a partial answer to the numerous prayers of the female students, the male students are largely left to fend for themselves...........
Having no where else to turn, they end up being preyed upon by avaricious landlords and estate agents who charge them twice the price and then behave as if they are doing us a huge favour by either letting out their rooms or then helping us procure the same.............
" Many an opportunistic landlord does not even deign to return the 'security' deposit that they collect from us up front as they know that we have nowhere to turn", IK Singh a student of the national capital's iconoclastic Kirori Mal College candidly admits..........
And so a brutal tale of repression, subjugation and blatant racism continues unabated even as a significant majority of our hypocritical and escapist countrymen and women prefer to look the other way and dole out inanities and platitudes by the dozen as they are not subjected to the same inhuman treatment on a daily basis...........

PYAAR TUNE KYA KIYAA..........

The most sublime emotion of them of all namely love, is surely a multi faceted emotion; if one wrote about love breaking down barriers of age, nationality, man made boundaries and so on and so forth yesterday; one is commenting upon the ugly underbelly of the same namely stalking and deranged obsession today.......
Newspapers, magazines, journals, television new channels et al are replete with numerous stories of deranged obsessed lovers who stalk and harass their "love interests" to the point where matters tend to get out of hand and have disastrous social and legal ramifications; but what takes the cake if not the entire bakery in this instance is the lakh of rupees and more that an obsessed and delusional lover splurged in a misguided effort to keep himself updated with recent events in his supposed lady love's life and times........
Stop doubting your eyes, yes you did indeed read it right, south Delhi resident 30 year old Bunty Kumar did certainly spend more than a lakh of rupees in a diabolic and deranged effort to keep abreast of the events in the life of his supposed "dream girl" a 16 year old teenaged student of a prominent South Delhi school........
Matters however came to an ugly head or grotesque culmination late on Tuesday afternoon when the above mentioned Bunty Kumar unceremoniously barged into the sprawling residence of his imaginary lady love in a prosperous South Delhi locality and proceeded to grope and molest her when she disdainfully turned down his undying professions of eternal love and his heartfelt desire to make her his life partner........
Conforming to stereotype and cast, Bunty also proved to be nothing more than a bully and spineless coward, he not only fled from the girl's abode when she raised a hue and cry but subsequently also quit the country with his tail between his legs.........
Cases under the relevant and applicable sections of the Indian Penal Code have been duly registered against the wannabe lothario at the Lodhi Road Police Station and the very same police personnel have taken his comrade in arms namely the 16 year old's maid into custody and she is currently her heels in the women's section of the national capital's Tihar Jail........
On being subjected to intense interrogation in typical Delhi Police ishtyle, the maid broke down and confessed to the fact that she was indeed Bunty's accomplice and informant and also that he had bought her the latest high end smart phone and also deposited more than Rs. 60,000/- in her bank account in lieu of which she used to keep him updated about his one sided love's life and times........
Bunty the scion of an influential and affluent South Delhi business family had been stalking the said girl for a little over three months according to Delhi police sources; he firstly made a foolhardy attempt to impress the girl with his customised BMW and choicest gifts and when the same failed to cast a spell, he resorted to subterfuge and sought the help of the girl's family's maid servant..........
His aide-de-camp not only kept him updated about the teenager's movements but also apprised him of the fact that the girl of his dreams was all alone at home on that fateful Tuesday afternoon and also let him into the house; Bunty initially tried to win her over with protestations of undying love and soulful inanities but soon resorted to intimidation and threats of physical harm when the girl steadfastly refused to succumb to his "Romeoish" charms........
Alas for Bunty, his "sapnon ki rani" turned out to be made of sterner stuff, she began shouting for help at the top of her voice and poor Bunty scampered off from the hotspot when he saw the neighbours make a beeline towards the same; he however committed the cardinal sin of leaving his trusty steed behind, thereby making the seemingly arduous task of establishing his identity a mere formality..........
Initial investigations carried out by the Delhi Police into the imbroglio have shed further light on the fact that Bunty is currently ensconed in a safe haven (?????) in Saudi Arabia; the Delhi Police personnel are however in constant touch with their Interpol counterparts and more than hopeful about ensnaring Bunty in their net sooner than later.........
As an astonished and shocked South Delhi aunty quipped; "hai, hai whatever is this besharam duniyaa coming too"............

FEBRUARY MUSINGS!!

Thanks to the eternal vigilance and due diligence on the part of the media and our highly underrated judicial system; our politicians, self styled godmen and self appointed saviours of society and religion still continue to quake in their boots and fear the common man's ire in no small manner; one shudders to think of the fate that would have befallen this country if self serving politicians, godmen, hypocrites and monsters masquerading as angels would have been allowed to run riot and have their way all the while........

Racist attacks, prospective 10 to 12 hour power cuts and last but not the least a chief minister who clandestinely endorses khap panchayats by affixing his stamp of approval and branding them "cultural organisations", one certainly can't ever recall Dilliwaalas having their cake and eating it too.....

The brutal, unprovoked, barbaric and deathly attack on a young and naive youth hailing from Arunachal Pradesh has once again exposed our racist nature and cruel and violent underbelly for all to see; one wonders why 18th century mindsets, prejudices, practices and hypocrisies continue to abound in 21 st century India; whatever next????? officially sanctioned revival of child marriages, Sati, Dowry, reduction of marriageable age from the present 18 to the much desired 16????? grow up India and Indians; wake up and smell the coffee, the rest of the world has moved on and left us at least 50 years behind, so do stop exulting in past glories and confront the ugly realities staring us in the face for the sake of our future generations........

Love on Facebook has certainly acquired a whole new denomination or then should I say definition what with a 41 year old based grandmother flying down to a nondescript Haryana village and getting bethroted (married) to man 16 years her junior........
Yes you did indeed hear it right, 41 year old Adriana Peral first befriended 25 year old Mukesh Ror through Facebook way back in February 2013, soon frantic notes were being exchanged and undying professions of eternal love were the flavour of the season and lo and behold the couple took their wedding vows, customary saat phere and settled down to a life of domestic bliss in Mukesh's village since November 2013.............
Peral who originally hails from good old California is a grandmother in her daily life and nurtures fond hopes of being able to visit her homeland, mother, doting grandchildren, pets and et all in the very near future with the man of her dreams in tow........
"With many a tear in my eye and a prayer on my lips, I used to frequent the local church beseeging the good lord for a loving and caring life partner after my brutal and traumatic previous experience with a monstrous US navy official that lasted just a few months"
"Thankfully the good lord paid heed to my entreaties and answer the same in the form of Mukesh, a man who is dearer to me than life itself and one who has reaffirmed my faith in love, goodness of the human heart and humanity"..........

"My guardian angel and epitome of patience Mukesh was indeed a great help, he held my hand and led me through the initial period with a smile on his lips and constant words of reassurance and encouragement on his tongue and lo and behold, I am learning to make perfectly round rotis and the stench of cow dung also does not really bother me now".........
Trust the authorities and officialdom to create obstacles in the path of sublime love and true humanity, Mukesh has been denied a visa to visit his wife's homeland primarily on account of his humble economic circumstances and latent fear that he might indeed settle down in the US of A for good if he is allowed to set foot on it's soil...........
"Parel's visa expires on February 10 and she will have to take off for her homeland with my child in her womb, strange indeed are the ways of this world that takes perverse pleasure in keeping a father away from his soon to be born child on the flimsiest of pretexts", Mukesh laments.........
Despite being a post graduate in mass communications from the prestigious Kurukshetra University and having been associated with a score of vernacular newspapers and other publications for the last three and a bit years, Mukesh did not meet the approval of the visa authorities within the US embassy who summarily rejected his visa application for a tourist visa with a cursory and disdainful glance at his visa file............
Hope however continues to linger eternally in the heart's of this lovey dovey couple and they express fond hopes of being reunited real soon in changed economic circumstances and somewhat more salubrious surroundings in a Haryana town or city as the case may be...........
And thereby hangs a tale of love that transcends boundaries of nationality, religion, age and language, sacrifice and the ultimate triumph of the indomitable human spirit.........

If all else fails simply shoot the messenger as the same is the easiest way out for legions of escapist, hypocritical, seemingly pious and holier than thou Indians; I am the first one to admit that a few bad apples certainly abound within the echelons of the media, but pray, show me one profession that does not have it's fair share of the same; but that is not cause enough to berate the media and castigate it for holding up a mirror and reacquainting us with our blatantly racist tendencies...........

Team India's bubble has burst once and for all and how; comparative minnows New Zealand all but wiped the floor with us and we are trying to arrest the slide by mouthing inanities and doling out the most ludicrous excuses; talk about living in a "fool's paradise"..........

Whatever happened to our constitutionally prescribed doctrine of "unity in diversity", "sarva dharma sambhav" and "Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam", were all these slogans simply meant for public consumption and nothing more than an effort to hoodwink a gullible and naive populace....
