WILL THE URBAN VOTER EVER SHED HIS LETHARGY AND INDIFFERENCE ???

April 30, 2014 was supposed to be a watershed day in the history of a fledgling so called Telangana state as it's citizens were exercising their franchise for the first time ever and the euphoria surrounding the same and welcome measures adopted and incorporated by an enterprising Election Commission were expected to send the voting figures into the stratosphere but alas, the twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad cut a sorry figure and shamed themselves with their lethargy, prevarication and sheer callousness..........
One did hear a few stories about names of entire families missing from the newly revised and updated electoral rolls but was that cause enough to justify the fact that 47% of the eligible voters did not exercise their franchise or voting rights?????? I for one certainly do not think so and exhort these lazy bums to shed years of lethargy and prevarication and become an integral part of the change they want to see on the ground........
Me and a few more intrepid explorers like me did make it a point to exercise our voting rights bright and early ( my better half and me had cast our votes by 8 am) and venture out to experience the much touted "model" polling booths for ourselves and one must certainly doff one's hat to the Election Commission in this regard as the sight of waiting kids, senior citizens and others being offered roses, snacks, butter milk and other liquid refreshments while waiting in air cooled shamianas or tents did indeed come as a welcome relief for cynical and world weary eyes and held out the hope for a bright and better voting experience.........
One really wonders whatever happened to those pledges taken by both first time as well as veteran voters in full public glare and in plain view of omnipresent television cameras; one also participated in a rally that was expressly meant to spread awareness about voting rights and the need to step out and vote along with a minimum of 3,500 or so like minded people on the city's resplendent Necklace Road on April 26, 2014, one simply wonders how that new found enthusiasm and euphoria dissipated and disappeared over a matter of a mere four (4) days or so............
We (a significant majority of the urban electorate) have reduced ourselves to caricatured armchair critics who seem to believe that castigating our existing political system and deploring it at any and every given time is our divinely ordained right while failing to pay equal heed and importance to the fact that people who are not willing to wade into the system and get their elbows and knees dirty in an effort to overhaul the same simply have no right whatsoever to give out sermons without being a part of the system.........
And last but not the least, everybody is a little to busy in waiting for the next person to step up to the plate and make a difference while failing to take cognisance of the irrefutable fact that it simply takes the power of one to either instigate or usher in a revolution; so do don your revolutionary hat and shed years of slumber before the situation becomes irredeemable and irrevocably gets out of hand as our politicians are nothing but a self serving lot who will only do right by themselves and nobody else...........
IT IS UP TO US TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE, SO DO LET'S STEP FORWARD AND BE THE DIFFERENCE THAT WE WANT TO SEE ON THE GROUND.............

COME AND BE AN INTEGRAL PART OF A POLITICAL REVOLUTION........

Here's why I and a lot of other voters like me who exercised their franchise/votes in favour of a sweeping change voted in favour of new age parties like the Aam Aadmi party or Jayaprakash Narayan's Janashakti Party in Hyderabad yesterday........
# these parties have come like a breath of fresh air and make us feel as if we are voting for a family member who will be accessible to us 24X7 rather than iconoclast politicians who only remember the Aam Aadmi once every five years or so..........
# the causes espoused by these parties and the hope that they hold out of ushering an era of corruption, caste, creed, sect, religion, region, and community free regime make my and other hearts of right thinking people go pit-a-pat and force us to vote for them.......
# unlike the so called traditional parties who are hell bent upon forcing India into the dark ages with their caste, creed and freebie ridden largely self serving manifestos, these new age parties have a vision for the country that is a mirror image of very own........
# the words emanating from the mouths of the candidates/leaders of these parties make immense sense, strike a chord and resonate in your heart and mind for a long while thereafter unlike the discourse of "reputed" political icons that fills your heart and soul with revulsion and dread.......
# is 49 days equal to or rather far more significant than a 15 year regime of an established political party that is better known for it's incomparable sycophancy and devotion towards a mother-son duo; the answer definitely lies in the affirmative if one were to analyse the achievements of the Arvind Kejriwal government that did a lot more than doling out promises and assurances that proved to be nothing but hot air (a la Sheila Dikshit)........
# these parties give the much abused, maligned, vilified and neglected Aam Aadmi or common man the god send opportunity of occupying the centre stage rather than coercing them to fall in line with the party ideology and manifesto or then toe the line espoused by one individula who seems to be hell bent upon putting Hitler, Mussolini, Qadhafi and Idi Amin in the shade with his brand of personality and cult based politics........
# I for one have more than willingly patronised any new and welcome political experiment or venture be it the one floated or envisioned by Jai Prakash Narayan (J.P.Narayan), VIshwanath Pratap Singh (V.P.Singh), or then any other leader who had the guts and courage to steer a course that was radical and pioneering and therefore see no reason why I should do any different now when our motherland finds itself at the crossroads of it's political history trying to find timely and resourceful replies to many a burning query staring it in the face.........
# and last but not the least, I am an incorrigible optimist who has always believed that my tomorrows will definitely be far better than my yesterdays and unlike a lot of people who simply keep venting their spleen and castigating the political system, I for one have decided to be an integral part of it by joining the Aam Aadmi Party as a primary member and being the change I want to see in the political system...........
At the end of the day, it is up to us to irrevocably change a malodorous, decaying, decadent, self serving and personality driven political system that has left our glorious motherland two decades and more behind the rest of the "advanced" world, so let's shed off decades of lethargy and self imposed prevarication and be part of a revolution that is threatening to shake the political foundations of this glorious country..........

BEWARE THE WRATH AND IRE OF AN ESTRANGED WIFE........

One has heard of numerous instances of irate husbands and jilted male lovers hacking their wives and lovers e-mail accounts in an attempt to malign them and extract their so called "revenge", but an estranged wife doing the same to her husband is surely a first as far as I am concerned......
In a shocking and jaw dropping development, the Andhra Pradesh Police has booked a Panchkula based woman on the charges of allegedly hacking her estranged (divorced) husband's e-mail account and filing a highly inflated income tax (I-T) return for the financial year 2013-14 from the same as the same would have proved to be of immense help in netting her a pretty sum as maintenance from her husband........
According to concerned police sources, the woman resorted to this extreme measure as she fervently believed that doing so would not only help her in netting an exorbitant sum as maintenance (the couple are currently embroiled in a maintenance case) but would also provide her with some amount of retribution.........
Akshita a long time resident of Sector 12-A of Panchkula and the estranged wife of one Vikas Goyal (a resident of Hyderabad) has since been booked under section 419 (punishment for cheating by impersonation) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) as well as relevant and applicable sections of the Information Technology Act.........
Akshita had also filed a dowry harassment case against Vikas but he was honourably acquitted by the lower courts in the same much to her dismay and consternation........
In yet another case pertaining to the quixotic issue of maintenance payable, filed by Akshita against her husband, the concerned lower courts had fixed the amount of maintenance payable to Akshita and her son at Rs. 30,000/- per month but Goyal had filed an appeal against the lower courts judgement in the court of the additional district and sessions judge in Panchkula and the appeal has since been pending before the concerned court.......
The sessions court had since asked the warring couple to file their respective Income Tax (I-T) returns before it so that it could arrive at a formal conclusion and thereby dispose of the case that has been pending before it for a few months.........
In a complaint filed before the Andhra Pradesh Police, Vikas Goyal had pointed out the fact that he had duly filed all the relevant I-T returns until the financial year 2012-13 but the I-T returns for the year 2013-14 were pending as he had changed jobs recently..........
In the same complaint, Goyal also alludes to the fact that a friend in the I-t department told or informed him that somebody had filed the concerned I-T return on his behalf on April 5,2014 and also that the said return was filed online through one of his e-mail accounts.........
Goyal in his police complaint also goes on to say that this could have only been done by his estranged wife as she was seemingly obsessed with the thought of receiving a pretty sum as monthly maintenance through either fair means or foul.........
Investigations have conclusively established the fact that the computer through which the notorious I-T return was filed is located/based in the national capital and owned by one of Akshita's long term friends and confidantes........
All one can say in conclusion is beware the wrath and ire of an estranged wife.........

DELHI POLICE FAILS TO MAKE ANY PROGRESS IN BRITISH NATIONAL'S MURDER.........

Trust the Delhi Police to botch up what seems to be an elementary and straightforward murder investigation, though three days have elapsed since the highly decomposed body of a British national was found in the national capital's Bhogal area, the Delhi police is yet to make any headway in the case........
According to Delhi Police sources auto drivers, roadside petty traders and other such intrepid businessmen who set up their stalls in the bustling Bhogal market 365 days a year have been exhaustively and intensively questioned, but the questioning proved to be a damp squib as the police was unable to extract any such information that would point them in the right direction..........
The highly decomposed body of a British national which was wrapped in a plastic bag was initially spotted by rag pickers right opposite a spare parts store that was located right next to a rubbish dump in the national capital's Bhogal area, the rag pickers immediately notified a passing by PCR van about the same and hence started the whole conundrum........
According to the investigating officer, CCTV footage from all the cameras stationed or located within the Bhogal market area has been obtained for the day in question and the day preceding it, police personnel are minutely perusing the same in order to establish how the British national arrived on the scene........
In addition to the said CCTV footage, the concerned police personnel are also minutely scrutinising the CCTV footage obtained from the national capital's railway stations, international and domestic airports and bus terminus so that they can conclusively establish when the British national who has since been identified as one Roddick Andrew Raymond (40) arrived in the national capital and also whether or not he was in the company of family and friends.........
A mangled and mutilated passport recovered from the pocket of the jeans that the decomposed body was clad in helped the police establish his credentials and the flummoxed and bewildered Bhogal police sleuths have also written to the immigration department requesting them to duly inform his kith and kin about the sorry incident as well as provide some urgently required information about his antecedents...........
All that has been conclusively established thus far is the fact that Mr. Raymond arrived in India on a tourist visa somewhere around mid February 2014 and that he had visited Chennai, Mumbai and Goa before arriving in the national capital, but what remains to be established are the facts pertaining to his exact date of arrival in the national capital and his whereabouts in the same.........
Prima facie it seems to be a case of cold blooded murder, the investigating officer reveals and goes on to disclose that the investigators are thoroughly probing whether the murder was a case of a robbery gone wrong or then some other sinister motives could be imputed to it........
"What seems to be evident is the fact that the murder was committed elsewhere and the body was callously and cold bloodedly dumped in the location where it was found in order to confuse and obfuscate the investigators and the decomposed state of the body alludes to the fact that the murder was committed at least 3-4 days before the body was dumped", the investigating officer reveals........
"We are doing all we can to trace the British national's still missing mobile phone and have also asked mobile service providers to help us in our quest as the same instrument would prove to be immensely beneficial in establishing the movements of the murdered person and shed further light on his last living moments", the hapless police officer signs off........
Will the Delhi police sleuths ultimately succeed in solving a murder case that is currently causing them sleepless nights or then will this also go down as one more addition to the already burgeoning figure of unsolved crimes, well your guess is as good as mine on this one........ 

SIX MEN TRY TO OUTRAGE THE MODESTY OF A MARRIED WOMAN........

Is standing up for the safety and security of your better half a crime that should be visited with the harshest possible recrimination or punishment, well these six people who mercilessly assaulted a journalist in Mumbai certainly seem to think so and what is even more appalling is the fact that a significant majority of such people seem to think so too.......
A journalist associated with a local daily was mercilessly beaten up and accosted in Mumbai's Malad (West) area by six persons (if one can call them that) on Saturday night just because he took up cudgels on behalf of his better half (wife) who was being sexually abused by the very same people.........
This sordid and grotesque incident occurred in the vicinity of the Sainath market which is a stone's throw away from the Malad Railway station and is an area that is densely populated for at least 15 hours a day or so........
According to local police sources, the couple were out for their weekend shopping when they were rudely confronted by these six demons who started passing lewd remarks against the journo's wife.......
" I was taken aback and rudely awakened when a group of people firstly started passing lewd and highly objectionable remarks against my wife and then made attempts to grope and inappropriately touch her, I tried my valiant best to push them off, but was soon overwhelmed by their far greater numbers", Sanjay Prasad, the intrepid journalist in question said...........
Prasad who suffered a deep cut on the head that required sutures and many other cuts and abrasions on his persona was treated at a nearby private hospital and subsequently proceeded to file a police complaint at the local police station against the six men who had assaulted him and tried to outrage his wife's modesty..........
Swinging into action with surprising alacrity, the Malad police personnel managed to lay their hands on one of the accused six one Vijay Bahadur and have posted look out notices in all the other police stations of India's commercial capital.........
"We have booked cases under sections of the IPC pertaining to outraging the modesty of a woman, assault and rioting against the absconding five and are extremely optimistic about our chances of nabbing them within the next 48 hours or so", Senior Police Inspector Ajit Surve remarked......
Is there any nook and cranny in this country that supposedly venerates and worships it's women folk where they are indeed safe and secure; crowded public places or then desolate and deserted corners, brightly lit streets or then dingy, decrepit and neglected bylanes anywhere and everywhere is a "prime" location for these menfolk(?????) who have made inflicting misery on women their life's aim and purpose........
These behaviours are nothing more than mere manifestations of a sick, warped and demented sexist mentality that needs to be nipped in the bud if Indian women are to be accorded their due status in a hopelessly male dominated society..........

3 YOUTHS TRY TO DISROBE A WOMAN IN FULL PUBLIC VIEW........

What is it with the youth of today and their remarkable propensity to tear of a woman's clothes if she as much as shows the temerity and courage to spurn their unwelcome and unwarranted sexist advances.........
Why don't the youth of this country once and for all learn as well as accept the fact that the woman in question is the lord and master of her body and soul and she and only she has the right to abjure or repulse your malodorous advances with the disdain and contempt they so richly deserve..........
And why is that groups of you accost hapless and cornered women in a misplaced and cannibalistic effort to prove your so called male dominance and sense of overwhelming superiority, why don't you show the courage and gall to confront the woman one on one????or then are you petrified of being reduced to a sorry apology for a male writhing about in agony and clutching at your crown jewels (testicles) because the woman you tried to belittle gave you a resounding kick in your cojones and thereby reduced you to the snivelling and grovelling cowards that you were to begin with......
What is even more galling or astounding is the fact that the public or then Aam Aadmi's who witness many such incidents choose to remain mute spectators or bystanders rather than coming to the timely aid of the hapless and cornered victim......

In yet another instance of so called male bravado and machismo, three (3) unidentified youths ripped off the vestments of a young ladies body when she spurned their sexual overtures in Noida's Kavi Nagar area late on Friday night.........
The woman who is gainfully employed as an executive with a Noida based multinational company was returning home along with her mother after shopping for essentials in a nearby market when the trio who seemed to be sozzled to the gills firstly started making offensive remarks about sensitive parts of her anatomy and then made a furtive attempt to disrobe her when she turned upon them and confronted them in their own language........
What is even more appalling and disturbing is the fact that this sordid incident follows close on the heels of a similar incident that was reported from Noida's Siyani Gate area where two unidentified youths had torn the clothes of a young woman's body when she similarly confronted them on the late evening of April 18..........
Kavi Nagar police personnel have lodged a case against three unidentified youths in their 20's based on the physical descriptions provided by the traumatised mother and daughter and launched a supposedly massive manhunt in order to apprehend the three wanted youths at the earliest......
And that is how the cookie crumbles.........

BJP ENDS UP SCORING A SELF GOAL.........

Political parties certainly seem to specialise in the dubious art of making Mount Everest out of a mound that would struggle to qualify as the proverbial molehill what with their penchant to thump their chests and cry themselves hoarse any time and every time a two bit political entity makes a beeline towards their home and hearth..........
I for one am sickened to the pits of my stomach by the self laudatory SMS'es sent to my inbox who seem to think that they have conquered Mount Everest just because one Daljit Singh whose only claim to fame is the fact that he happens to be incumbent Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's younger sibling joined the saffron party in the "august" (?????) presence of it's prime ministerial candidate mass murderer Narendra Modi..........
One really fails to understand what the euphoria, brouhaha and cacophony is all about, granted that Daljit Singh has joined the rank and file off the saffron party, but how can this remarkable non event be touted as a triumph of either the party or then a prime ministerial candidate who is directly responsible for one of the most horrendous communal carnages in living memory..........
Sardar Daljit Singh is an individual in his own right and hence enjoys the choice and constitutionally bestowed right of joining any political party or institution that he chooses too and pray why are you going around in a self laudatory mode as the Indian political spectrum is replete with instances of blood brothers representing or then choosing to align with different political parties.............
The one clear thing that emerges from this hypocritical and nauseating self congratulatory exercise is the fact that the BJP's political utterances and discourse/s is/are galling, self serving and self contradicting what with every two bit leader of the saffron party poking fun at Manmohan Singh's spinelessness and remarkable propensity to act as Sonia Gandhi's self appointed stooge..........
So will one of you spare a moment to think clearly and plausibly, stop being fawning and gushing Modi acolytes and chamchas for a moment and answer an extremely topical and relevant question: you take Sardar Manmohan Singh on and openly ridicule his career choices, but then what is Sardar Daljit Singh apart from a mindless, senseless and spineless Modi acolyte who has sold his soul to a conscienceless monster and all this because a few self appointed psephologists who change allegiances and predictions at the drop of crores of rupees have gone to town proclaiming a Hitler reincarnate as India's next prime minister.........
What then is the difference in the so called "party with a difference", you ushered in the incumbent prime minister's brother into the rank and file of your party just because you though that it would earn a few more brownie points in the bargain and give you a few more bragging rights, for god's sake grow up and smell the coffee because real politik is not about thumping one's own back but serving the people who elected you selflessly, honestly, conscientiously and most importantly without any profit or ulterior motive whatsoever...........
Granted that Manmohan Singh is a living embodiment of an abject human being who sold his soul to Sonia Gandhi because he believed that he would be better served by doing so, but then the very same holds good for Daljit Singh whom you seem to be touting as the "eighth wonder" of the world or some such; Daljit Singh sold his soul to a despicable mass murderer so how does that make him and you any different from either Manmohan Singh or the Congress party...........
So stop counting your chickens before they are hatched as there is many a slip between the cup and the lip, the election results will be out for all to see on May 16,2014 and that is when you will clearly know where your hypocritical and shambolic apology for a political party and it's hallucinatory prime ministerial candidate stand............

ENTERPRISING PUNE SCHOOL KIDS SHOW ELDERS THE ERROR OF THEIR WAYS........

While a significant majority of us so called elders seem to be the living embodiment of the age old dictum "hum aisi hi hain aur hum nahin sudhrenge", a group of school kids from one of Pune's most prestigious schools have taken the onus of overturning this rather archaic dictum by saying "ki hum in logon ko sudhar kar hi rahenge".........
Be it by coercion, suggestion, visually or then by any other means; callous and indifferent elders who felt or rather had cultivated the feeling that littering Pune's Shivajinagar Railway station was their birthright were made to eat humble pie by a group of about 65 students or so who were utterly fed up with the callousness and indifference of the grown ups and wanted them to l;earn the value of hygiene and cleanliness at public places.......
This afore mentioned group of about 65 students or so not only thoroughly and painstakingly cleaned up the station premises, but also performed a skit that highlighted the importance and significance of keeping our public places sparkling and free from all forms of litter and human waste.......
Their crowning glory however came when the very same group of kids spilt themselves into groups of 5 or so and went around distributing thank you cards to conscientious and public spirited citizens who had made the effort to throw their litter in the dustbins provided for the purpose rather than throwing it around themselves as seemed to be the prevalent norm.......
This timely and much required novel initiative kicked off at around 10:30 am on a bright and sultry Thursday morning when the divisional operating manager of the Pune Railway Station Ashok Kumar Tiwari formally inaugurated the same.........
Lo and behold these enterprising and innovative students soon had the travellers and others assembled at platform number 1 of the said station literally eating out of their hands as they firstly performed a 20 minute long skit earmarking the necessity of keeping both the station premises as well as trains clean and tidy and also put up a series of colourful banners and cards that illustrated the very same message in an easy to understand and extremely user friendly manner.........
Saee Mehandale (11) a class VI student of the Vision English Medium School described the experience as one of the most illuminating and uplifitng instances in his short but eventful life and was more than optimistic about the fact that the skit and messages disseminated by him and his fellow students would certainly have provided the travellers with adequate food for thought and forced their hand into discharging their responsibilities as both travellers and concerned citizens.........
While Atharv Tole (12) a class VII student from the very same school was thrilled to bits when he saw passengers who were waiting for their respective trains take a leaf out of the children's book and voluntarily join them in their effort to make the best of an otherwise chaotic and haphazard situation.........
The immensely proud and visibly gloating principal of the Vision English Medium School Kanchan Satpute could not stop gushing at the unprecedented success of the initiative and pointed out the fact that this measure was primarily initiated to make the students aware of their social responsibilities as well as spread this message amongst fellow Indians.......
Lauding the success and timeliness of this welcome measure, Harsha Shah, president of the Railway Pravasi group and more than enthusiastic participant in the programme lamented the fact that travellers and passengers failed to keep their surroundings clean despite the railway authorities pumping in immense funds into various cleanliness drives and hoped that this initiative by the children would prove to be both an eye opener as well as conscience mover and shaker.........
Here's wishing this bunch of enterprising kids who not only did Pune but the entire country proud with their adorable actions and antics all success in many more such initiatives, way to go BETA, you are the future of our motherland and you and only you can take it to the pinnacle of success and glory........

HUMBLE AHMEDABADI OWNS WORLD'S SMALLEST PRINTED COPY OF MACBETH.........

Now here is one Ahmedabadi or then should I say Amdavadi that the rest of us Indians should revere and cherish, why???? simply because the gentleman in question owns the smallest printed copy of the bard's immortal play "Macbeth" and showers more care and attention on it than most people do on their supposedly beloved pets.........
Meet Ratilal Mandali, a retired primary school teacher who boasts of the unique distinction of owning and possessing the world's smallest or then should I say miniature copy of the world's most celebrated playwright William Shakespeare's legendary work "Macbeth".........
This Amdavadi who candidly owns up to his lack of familiarity with the bard and his numerous works says that this copy of Macbeth that ad measures 3 cms by 1.5 cms by 5 cms first caught his eye and fancy at the city's Gujari Bazaar way back in circa 1975.........
Bashfully claiming that he is the only living person on planet earth to own this one of a kind copy or edition of the play he unassumingly lets out the information that this edition was printed by Alide Publications, London almost four hundred years back i.e. in the year of the lord 1626........
"Both the Limca Book of Records (2010) and the Indian Book of Records (2011) have duly certified or legitimised the inalienable or indisputable fact that I am the only person in the world to own and possess such a miniscule edition of the play and it is my penchant for owning things that are a little off the beaten path that attracted me towards the same at the very first glance", Mandali says.........

I for one do ardently hope and pray that some bibliophile takes up the onus of preserving this one of a kind creation that is a celebration of the historic bard's life and times, I would have most certainly stepped forward more than willingly if I had the resources, but the latest monthly statement from my bank is a stark and rather irreverent reminder of the fact that my finances are in a critical state and barely sufficient to keep my body and soul together............

DELHI BASED BAND SET TO EXPOSE MODI IN HIS TRUE COLOURS.........

There's something about Modi that draws the ire of many an Indian and leaves him fuming at the very mention of the man's name; while there is no denying the fact that Modi does indeed have his fair share of acolytes, sycophants and chamchas, his detractors surely outnumber the same overwhelmingly.......
A Delhi based band is the latest hopper on to the say no to Modi bandwagon, the band which call itself "Ska Vengers" has taken upon itself the onus of educating the voter about Modi's sins of omission and commission through it's songs and other utterances........

Yes you did certainly read it right the first time, a 35 year old penniless man committed suicide or then ended his life prematurely by allowing a speeding metro train in the Masuri area (Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh) late on Tuesday evening but not before setting police as well as media circles abuzz with his strangely eccentric and outlandish request to Narendra Modi..........
According to police sources, the penniless man who was jobless for an interminable period of time and besieged by financial obstacles and difficulties left behind a suicide note in which he blamed no one apart from himself for his decision to end or terminate his life and also urged his pride and idol Narendra Modi to act as his young daughter's foster father and shower her with all the love and encomiums that she so richly deserved......
Om Prakash Tiwari (the deceased) used to reside along with his long suffering family in the Loni area of Ghaziabad and the family was besieged by financial and other such difficulties that might have been the trigger for Tiwari's decision to commit suicide.........

I your avowed fan and ardent well wisher am ending my wretched and worthless life due to unending financial problems but am leaving behind my young daughter. Do take care of her as your very own after my death and kindly see that she does not pine for me"..........

11 YEAR OLD PUNE RAPE VICTIM GETS JUSTICE AT LAST.........

Every candle light vigil or peaceful agitation is firstly made fun off, ridiculed, chastised, castigated, despised and then finally emulated and adopted when it proves to be resounding success and always ends up achieving far more than it initially set out to do..........
A couple of days after the inhuman treatment meted out to the 11 year old rape victim from Pune's renowned Wanowrie School occupied media space, grabbed newspaper headlines and last but not the least made it's way to thousands of blogs across the country, a five hour long intense and democratic protest by the parents of students from the same school and students itself more than yielded the desired result when the top management acquiesced to their 14 point charter of demands as well as got rid of the offending principal and director who failed to act on the 11 year old victim's complaint for month's together.............
According to one proud and more than immensely satisfied parent, "the school authorities not only agreed to our demands about having a lady attender within every school bus operated by the school's management but also reinstated the ravaged 11 year old victim with immediate effect as well as waived off her school/tuition fess until she duly completes her class 12 as their penance for the inexplicably sordid and apathetic treatment meted out to the victim".............
"What was even more heartening and encouraging was the fact that students who should have ideally been within the classrooms were standing shoulder to shoulder with us raising slogans like 'Principal ko jail main aur hamari behan (sister) ho school main' and even implied threats by the teachers who boasted about their ability to ruin their wards academic future failed to have any dampening or salutary effect whatsoever as the students repeatedly questioned them about their stoic silence on the the tragic issue and their inability to safeguard or then ensure a fellow student's safety and security, yet another doting and overwhelmed parent proudly pointed out...................
According to a third parent, their biggest achievement lay in getting a grudging endorsement of respect and admiration from the city's police commissioner who promised them of all possible help and also lauded their efforts to get the victim and her family the long denied justice to them publicly..................

Two persons who have since been identified as Manish Kapoor and Kamal Nath were arrested by Delhi Police personnel late on Monday evening on the charges of spiking a 30 year old woman's drink and raping her in a hotel room when she was under the influence of the drug.......
According to Delhi Police Sources, Kapoor who works as a senior accountant in a Gurgaon based private firm and Nath summoned the woman/victim to a Gurgaon hotel room on April 15 on the pretext or excuse of helping her secure her child's admission in a reputed Delhi based public school, offerd her the sedative laced drink and then callously proceeded to sexually exploit or rather violate her.........
"The victim who is a resident of the national capital and employed in a senior position in the very same firm as Manish Kapoor took Manish at face value when he invited her to the coffee shop of a Gurgaon based star hotel on the late evening of April 15 and willingly accepted the soft drink offered to her by Manish little suspecting that the same would lead to her ruination as Manish and Nath firstly led her into a room within the very same hotel when she was in a semi conscious state and then raped her more than once each when she was totally and utterly unconscious", the investigating officer said.........
Four days after the incident, the 30 year old woman/victim summoned up the courage/wherewithal to approach the Rohini police and narrated the sorry and heart rending ordeal that she underwent before the SHO of the said Rohini based police station on Saturday afternoon.........
Taking due and immediate cognisance of her written complaint, the SHO firstly proceeded to register a FIR against the two accused persons and then sent the woman to a government medical facility for a series of tests that conclusively established the occurrence or incidence of rape........
As is the norm in most if not all such cases, the Rohini police subsequently constituted three teams to nab the culprits/accused at the earliest and one amongst these three teams managed to nab the accused duo from their respective Delhi residences late on Monday evening.......
Women of the world beware, do not accept drinks offered to you by persons who may be known to you intimately or then for years together as the offered drink may often enough be laced/spiked with a sedative/intoxicant that could knock you out for a few hours and lead to your ultimate ruination, however if your so called friend or acquaintance still continues to insist on your imbibing the offered drink request him to sip it first and then only accept it after you have conclusively established the fact the same is not spiked or laced with any substance that can cause you harm.........

In an almost exact reprisal of many a Hindi Potboiler, top ranking Delhi Police Officials yesterday (Sunday April 20,2014) announced the fact that they had arresteda 30 year old woman and her aide-de-crime for allegedly blackmailing a businessman after having filmed him in a compromising and unsavoury position..........
Jitendra (the victim in this case) is a businessman from Rajasthan who owns an engineering college and resides with his doting family in the national capital's Prashant Vihar area........
Jitendra who is said to have close and inextricable links with both a national political party as well as it's top ranking leaders happened to bump into the woman who would entrap him and all but reduce his copybook life into a sort of living hell........
Meenakshi (the mastermind) runs a beauty parlour in Jaipur and allegedly befriended Jitendra with the ulterior motive of laying her grebby, greedy and conniving hands on a considerable share of his personal worth that allegedly runs into several crore rupees.........
Meenakshi then duly proceeded to hatch a criminal conspiracy along with her ever willing husband Sandeep and a more than willing accomplice who answers to the name of Arun Kothari; as per the laid down master plan Meenakshi invited Jitendra to her Jaipur abode and indulged in coitus or then the sexual act with him while both her husband as well as Arun Kothari filmed them in the act with the help of strategically placed video cameras.........
Like I said earlier life does indeed have this inexplicable penchant or uncanny ability to imitate art and in a scene that has been repeated ad nauseum in many a Hindi potboiler Jitendra soon found himself embroiled in a web of sleaze, sex and blackmail..........
He soon started receiving threatening and intimidatory calls from both Meenakshi as well as Sandeep at all hours on his mobile phone and the gist of every telephone call was the same, "cough up the astronomical sum of Rs. 10 crore within the specified period or else we will not even bat an eyelid while sending the incriminating tapes to your family members thereby ending your idyllic life forever and ever"...........
A harassed, browbeaten and considerably chastened Jitendra then summoned up all his hidden and latent negotiating skills and somehow managed to clinch a deal for the incriminating tapes or then should I say video footage for the considerably reduced sum of Rs, 2 crore........
As agreed upon Jitendra then proceeded to pay the hitherto agreed amount of Rs. 5 lakh as the first instalment but at the same time also summoned or dredged up the courage to file a complaint at the Prashant VIhar Police Station against the trio who were causing him sleepless nights and hell bent upon reducing him to a life of penury........
Taking due cognisance of the complaint filed by the victim, the Prashant VIhar Police officials then proceeded to lay a trap and sent across a decoy team with the sum of Rs. 40 lakh as the second instalment; the decoy team more than did it's job and managed to ensnare Meenakshi and her accomplice Arun Kothari the very minute they stepped into the office where they were asked to come and receive the amount........
Meenakshi's husband Sandeep who was awaiting the duo' return in a car outside the office's compound somehow wizened up to the situation and made himself scarce in the very same car in which the trio had arrived on the scene........
Both the Prashant Vihar as well as Rajasthan Police have sent teams to every nook and cranny of the arid state of Rajasthan and are more than optimistic about their prospects of nabbing him real soon........

DEKH TAMASHA DEKH..........

While big ticket releases like the mundane and nondescript Two States hog all the entertainment media space and considerable eyeballs, rare gems like Feroz Abbas Khan's political satire "Dekh Tamasha Dekh" rarely get the accolades and encomiums that they so richly deserve...........
Khan who has such thought provoking films like Gandhi Ka Beta and numerous or then should I say thousands of noteworthy theatre productions once again only enhances or embellishes his credentials as a writer and director of considerable standing with this hard hitting tale that blows the lid off many an Indian political idiosyncracy...............
A timely, topical and much needed realise in these times of political mud slinging and incessant wrangling, Dekh Tamasha Dekh is an irreverent, hard hitting, unsparing, insightful and soul searching exploration of our self obsessed and self serving socio-political system...........
What is even more gratifying and illuminating is the fact that Khan and his motley bunch of spirited performers (Satish Kaushik, Vinay Jain and Tanvi Azmi) not only poke fun at archetypal politicos but also point fingers at self styled god men whose constant and incessant cacophony has all but become present day folklore.............
A humble and obsequious dead body or then should I say rotting corpse serve as the tipping or starting point of a stereotypical media debate that for once is sometimes serious, mostly slapstick but also provides you with a lot of food for thought...........
What makes proceeding even more eye catching and rivetting are the on screen antics of a roving newspaper editor and somewhat conscientious (???) cop who play no small role in taking the on screen proceedings towards their logical conclusion............
Crackling and smart writing that leaves you to do a lot of reading between the lines of your own, Khan's balanced and didactic views that highlight all sides of the political conundrum without preaching as well as pontificating and sterling performances from Messrs Kaushik and Azmi raise this film head and shoulders above many of it's present day counterparts...........
However, this noteworthy and splendid effort is not without it's glitches and snafus as one ardently wishes that the screenplay had been a little more razor sharp and the editing far more sharper and focussed as a few situations in the film do seem to be contrived and a little too long drawn out for a reasonably intelligent persons comfort.........
The underlying humour though more than potent and cogent does show a marked propensity towards being a little too high flown and parts of it does fly over the heads of not so discerning as well as suitably informed audiences............
All in all, Dekh Tamasha Dekh is an intelligent and sparkling film that is a must watch for every discerning viewer who believes in patronising intelligent and thought provoking cinema; Queen, Ankhon Dekhi and now Dekh Tamasha Dekh; the much maligned Hindi film industry certainly seems to have got it's act right during the first four months of 2014............

IS THIS HOW INDIA TREATS IT'S YOUNG AND NUBILE RAPE VICTIMS??????

Why do a significant majority of us have a downrightly deplorable, inhuman, shambolic and reprehensible attitude towards rape victims who deserve our empathy and encouragement rather than disdain and discouragement.........
The ordeal or then should I say trial by fire that the 11 year old Pune rape victims parents are undergoing every single day of their lives not only highlights our mental block and shocking apathy towards the rehabilitation and resettlement of rape victims but a living testimony to our latent hypocrisy and double standards........
To jog the nations' collective memory, a 11 year old female/girl student of Pune's renowned Wanowrie School was continually sexually exploited or violated on every single day between April and October 2013 by the driver and attendant of her school bus, the hapless parents of the long suffering girl firstly brought this dastardly act to the notice of the school's principal and patiently waited for the school authorities to initiate the much desired and awaited legal action against the erring duo........
As no such action was forthcoming on part of the school's authorities till a week ago or so, the parents decided that enough was enough and finally filed a police complaint alleging rape and kidnapping against the bus driver Kamruddin Ghayasuddin Shaikh as well as the attender of the very same bus one Khalil Mohammad Pathan.......
To their credit, it must be said that the Pune Police acted on the long suffering parent's complaint against the duo post haste and arrested the infamous duo on April 18, 2014, but what continues to gall or astound the parents is the apathetical attitude of the school authorities as well as other parents towards the 11 year old rape victim.........
As the distraught and inconsolable father of the rape victims father says "I have become a very helpless and destitute father in the aftermath of the police report as not only did the Wanowrie school management strike my daughter's name of the school's rolls without any logical explanation, but other schools are taking a leaf out of the school's book and simply refusing to admit my daughter in their school".........
And all this when even more profound, shocking, sensational and jaw dropping revelations about a spate of rapes in public and elite schools continue to hit or rather make the headlines every single day continually highlighting our sickening holier than thou attitudes and penchant for sweeping the prevailing ugliness in our so called civilised society under the carpet........
Tearfully and shakingly recalling the humiliating and harrowing incident, the victim says " In the month of October I was eagerly looking forward to my Diwali vacations and eagerly firming up plans of enjoying the same to the hilt with my doting family when my idyllic world crumbled around my knees on the fateful evening when Pathan asked me to accompany him to his humble abode as my parents were not at home to receive me as they usually did when I came home from school"..........
"When I questioned and queried Pathan, he replied saying that my mother had requested him to take care of me while she was away; on reaching his home I noticed Pathan making a beeline towards his bathroom and undressing himself in undue haste, I did make an effort to flee the scene on seeing him in a near naked state but he was simply too strong and quick for me as he succeeded in his endeavours to unclothe me and force himself upon me"...........
"He then proceeded to threaten me and said that he would kill me and throw my body out of the moving bus if I as much as breathed a single word about my ordeal to either my parents, teachers or friends; things only got worse as both Pathan as well as the bus driver would take turns to put their hands through my dress pocket and fondle and grope my private parts or nether regions on every single day thereafter", the shuddering victim mournfully signs off.........
Taking up the tale, the victim's slightly shrivelled up mother says that, " I noticed that on a few occasions my daughter who is normally back at around 3 pm or so from school was being dropped home at around 4:30 pm or so, when I asked or Queried Pathan about the delay, he cursorily brushed me off by making excuses about 'special classes' or some such"..........
"I was shocked beyond words and really did not know how to react when my elder daughter who is pursuing a degree in engineering and also happened to be around at the time owing to her Diwali vacations stumbled upon the sordid truth and informed us about the criminalistic proceedings"..........
"On numerous occasions I did notice bruises and contusions around my daughter's lip, necks, nether regions and lower extremities, but let the matter go as she always said that she had slipped in the bus and hurt herself; but I now continually curse myself for my gullibility and not being suspicious about the marks on my daughter's body as my suspicions would have forced my hand into establishing the truth and ended the endless torture inflicted on my little daughter months ago", the silently suffering mother says.............
According to the girl's father he got to know of his doctor's pitiful predicament way back in November 2013 and approached the school's principal Moushumi Chaudhary in December 2013...........
Ms. Chaudhary summoned Pathan as well as the driver to her office and questioned them in my presence, but the duo simply shrugged away the allegations and in turn accused my daughter and simply said that she was trying to tarnish or blemish their reputations at the behest of some other students who were inimical to them............
"A few days later Ms. Chaudhary reassured us saying that the school management had decided to take stringent and cognizable action against the duo, and the school' counsellor who is aware of the proceedings also offered to change my daughter's school bus, but Pathan and the driver continued to harass my innocent daughter even after her school bus was changed"..............
"I once again approached the principal in the first week of January and asked her about the progress made in the enquiry, but was shaken to my very roots when she started defending the conduct of the criminal duo, I then decided to file a written complaint before the school's director in the middle of January 2014 and he heard me out patiently but did not hold out any reassurances about initiating any action against the demons who had continually violated my daughter"............

"I cannot afford to home school my daughter as the charges of such tutors are way beyond my means and am actively contemplating moving out of Pune as soon as possible as not other school of repute has shown the slightest inclination towards admitting my innocent and victimised daughter", the victim's daughter tapers off bemoaning his fate............
Is this how we collectively treat our rape victims both as a so called progressive and egalitarian society as well as a nation that is said to be on the move; I for one cannot think of any other so called civilised society that draws blood and it's cheap thrills by making a living example out of a rape victim.............
As for our so called "enlightened and visionary" education system the less said the better, both Mr. Sibal as well as the present incumbent promised us of revolutionary changes within the same, if the ordeal suffered or endured by this Pune based 11 year old is a shining example of the so called revolution, the all I can say in conclusion is off with the heads of Mr. Sibal, the present incumbent, Wanowrie school's principal and director, may their souls rot in hell and may they be doomed for eternity.............

DELHI BASED BUSINESSMAN SWALLOWS 12 SMALL GOLD BARS!!!

India (our glorious and beloved motherland) does continue to astound, confound, befuddle and mystify us in equal measure what ever with 12 small gold bars being extricated from the stomach by a team of doctors and so on and so forth.........
Surgeons who performed an abdominal operation in a New Delhi hospital were left wondering what had happened when they performed the surgery on the patient in order to extract a bottle cap that was reportedly causing him acute discomfort and distress but found 12 small gold bars lodged in the patient's stomach instead of the said bottle cap........
The 63 year old prosperous businessman who is a long time resident of Old Delhi's famed and historic Chandni Chowk area was admitted toi the national capital's renowned Sir Ganga Ram Hospital on April 7 after complaining of constant vomitting and acute distress in passing motions/stools after he had purportedly swallowed a water bottle cap........
According to Dr. C.S.Ramachandran, senior consulting surgeon at the Sir Ganga Ram Hospital; an abdominal scan, MRI scan and series of X rays failed to show any signs whatsoever of the said water bottle cap but did allude to the presence of 12 small gold bars within the patient's abdominal wall.........
On being intensely questioned by the team of doctors, the 63 year old businessman willingly revealed the startling and disturbing fact that he had indeed swallowed 12 small gold bars in Singapore some 10 days ago or so (around march 27 or so).........
He also disclosed the fact that these small gold bars were worth more than Rs. 12 lakh in the Indian market and that he had swallowed the same in order to avoid paying the hefty customs duty that would have otherwise become applicable on the same.as also escape from the clutches of the "greedy and avaricious customs officers" (as he termed them)..........
A team of doctors operated on the patient and opened up his abdominal wall in order to extricate the foreign metal that was causing him acute distress and other health related complications..........
"The patient also told me that he was more than optimistic about his ability to regurgitate the gold bars out of his system through his stools but was dismayed and perturbed when he could not do the same for 10 days or more, he only approached us when the pain got unbearable and when he had crossed his pain related threshold" Dr. Ramachandran said........
However all is well that ends well, the team of doctors handed the now infamous gold bars to the hospital's medical superintendent when the patient failed to cough up a clear, coherent, convincing and cogent reply about the ownership and antecedents of the same............
The patient was duly discharged from the hospital on April 15 and the offending gold bars were duly handed over to the concerned authorities by the Sir Ganga Ram Hospital's Medical Superintendent........
And thereby hangs a tale of greed, avarice, misplaced sense of priorities, inflicting untold miseries upon oneself as long as one was surely to benefit in the bargain and last but not the least avoid the due processes of the law in order to save a few thousand (?????) or then is it lakh rupees........swallowing small gold bars in order to hoodwink the authorities, whatever will Indian businessmen conjure up next.....
