The much anticipated and eagerly awaited Jan Lokpal Bill seems all set to be confined to the dustbins of history as it is not politically expedient for our political masters to pass a bill that makes them accountable for all their sins of omission and commission, will the concerted efforts of the indefatigable crusader Ann Hazare put paid to our political classes nefarious designs; well your guess's as good as mine????

I am well past the age of thirty, not affiliated to any political party or organisation; will not be corrupted for love or money, will not sell my soul for all the money ensconed away in numerous Swiss bank accounts; my enemies outnumber my handful of friends by more than a ratio of four is to one; am I fit to be the next president of this glorious mishap called INDIA???????

The UPA government's celebrating three years of scams one bigger than the other, rupee falling to it's it's lowest level against the US dollar in the history of independent India, the misery and ignominies heaped on the stereotyped common man by the way of unbridled inflation and depleting household budgets, cause enough for celebrating three years of 'glorious' achievements don't you think????

Morally bamkrupt leadership ??

It is high time General V.K. Singh commandeered the India Against Corruption campaign thereby providing the really battle weary and beleaguered Anna Hazare Sahab a well deserved rest and sojourn; military discipline and a much needed new direction and leadership might well prove to be the tonic that the doctor ordered to rejuvenate a resignedly weary and battle scarred campaign against the scourge of corruption........

First newspapers,then the radio,television,internet,blogs,social networking sites,the internet as a whole and lastly Twitter and other such allied networks; whatever will the powers of be think of gagging and censoring next, the right to free speech or then the right to freely and independently elect your representatives in both the state as well as central legislatures??????

A downright corrupt and thoroughly immoral Congress leadership now threatens to initiate disciplinary action against it's merry bunch of equally corrupt cohorts; oh the ironies of our much maligned political spectrum and the extent that these people will go to in order to ensure that they continue to remain in the spotlight.......

Bandh .. Again

Will somebody kindly enlighten me about the rationale behind bandhs, dharnas and general strikes as I have only seen these causing misery,hardships and an increasing burden on honest taxpayers like you and me on account of the damage rendered to public property.....
The daaruwallahs in every mohhala and galli seem to be laughing their way to the bank thanks to the Bharat bandh disrupting the normal and routine life's of hapless citizens like you and me.......

Myth !
Well,well,well the myth surrounding the much hyped 9% growth rate seems to be going bust once and for all what with the GDP growth rate going down to an abysmal 5.3% (the lowest ever growth rate over the last decade and more) and the annual growth rate for the year 2012 going down to an alarming 6.5% against a rather robust 7.8% in the year 2011 and pray what is our UPA leadership doing to arrest the slide; mouthing platitudes and expressing worry rather than initiating concrete measures to arrest this free fall.........

Mamata Banerjee must be today's equivalent to Houdini or then the greatest ever female magician of all time otherwise how did she ever manage to conjure up the magical figure of Rs.1.25 crore that she reportedly spent on the function held to felicitate the owners and team members of the IPL Kolkata Knight Riders team (champions for 2012) for a state struggling to pay off it's debt commitments and interest accrued on loans taken, conjuring up and spending this sum on a fruitless PR exercise is indeed nothing short of a modern day miracle......

On Crime :

Delhi is certainly living up to it's reputation as the crime capital of the country what with a sitting independent MLA being shot at from point blank range in his office by unidentified assailants and all this while Delhiites are supposed to be the most protected of the lot on paper at least; way to go Delhi, that's the price one has to pay for electing an incompetent CM time and again I suppose???

On Inflation :
Increasing fuel prices, galloping inflation, global warming, random and whimsical power cuts and acute water shortages have certainly dented my monthly budgets, surrounding environment and penchant for taking a bath thrice daily; but most importantly what remains unaffected is my peace of mind and sense of tranquility as I don't let these trivialities bother me beyond a given point.....

On Current political slugfest :
L.K. Advani's no holds barred blog and the irrepresible Ram Jethmalani's paasionate open letter certainly seem to have set the cat amongst the pigeons as far as the top BJP leadership is concerned; what with every leader worth his/her salt trying to spin different yarns about the same and trying that much harder to prove that everything's hunky dory within a party in deep disarray.......


On cricket
Why can't the BCCI take a leaf out of the books of other cricket boards and have separate captains for the different formats of the game; appointing Gambhir as the test captain is indeed the need of the hour, let Dhoni continue to lead the side in the shorter versions, but for both God's as well as the country's sake appoint Gambhir as the test captain post haste........

India's finest present day opening batsman Gautam Gambhir recently revealed his deep rooted and long held fears about being insecure about his place in the side and a well orchestrated campaign being initiated by interested parties to effect his and other such team mates who are not exactly on back slapping terms with M.S. Dhoni ouster from the side; well one must say that the intrigues in the Indian teams dressing room would certainly put the plots of many a modern day detective thriller to shame.........

The world will neither be a richer or poorer place irrespective of the fact whether or not you're around; so strive that much harder and extend that last sinew in an effort to leave your imprints on the sands of time, thereby making sure that you're long remembered after you're dead and gone.......

The cricketing world will certainly be a duller and far more less luminous place with the retirement of Kevin Pietersen from the shorter formats of the game;KP brought a joie de vivre and sense of enjoyment to the game that will indeed be hard to replicate...

Silence is golden and often times the corner stone of every successful marriage; the better half raves and rants and the hapless husband listens with a woebegone expression....

Married life can be tempestuous and trying as hell; ask me cause' I've been married for well over eleven years now, would I forego this experience and call it quits on my marriage; hell no cause' I love the unpredictability and roller coaster ride called marriage a little too much for my own good.........

Marriages are certainly made in heaven; but a significant majority of them become a living hell for the couples concerned because of inflated egos, money and career related issues and inability to understand and accept each other's given point of view, one wonders why people get married if they are simply not willing to adjust with their partners whims, fancies, fears, sorrows, joys and shared experiences......

Anna Hazare effect - does is still evoke the same response? One really wonders whether these day long protest fasts are indeed having any effect whatsoever on the impermeable hides of the government of the day; my inspiration and hero Anna Hazare and his merry bunch of followers periodically hold these jamborees, make a hue and cry and go back, but this government continues to inflict miseries on the much abused aam aadmi as if doing so was their birthright..

Wither Humanity ??
Kindness,sympathy,empathy,brotherhood and humanity have become such words and feelings that are well on their way towards extinction in the prevailing scenario; we are sympathetic towards people who can benefit us, and always focussed on exploiting the next person in the vilest possible means as long as it serves our narrow selfish ends and gives us an illusionary upper edge; wither humanity??
